De Castelli Headquarters
De Castelli invited the 31 designers who contributed to the Ornamentum project to a special lunch held in their workshops. This event represented a moment of celebration and reaffirmation of the strong collaboration between the brand and the designers. The location is not coincidental: the lunch took place in the workshops, where the creations are brought to life, adding a symbolic layer to the occasion and underlining the close connection between the design process and production.
The day represented a moment of inspiration and reflection, continuing the path undertaken last year with the launch of the Ornamentum project, which saw the involvement of designers in a creative process through the use of metal as an expressive material. The hands-on experience in the production of De Castelli sparked new ideas, offering further opportunities to explore and push the potential of metal.
During the meeting, the company presented its strategic vision and upcoming projects to the designers, highlighting the future directions for both creativity and production.
De Castelli’s Ornamentum research traces its roots back to the indirect etching technique of acquaforte and the craftsmanship of 16th-century Swiss goldsmiths, reinterpreted through the company’s specific and advanced expertise.
Incorporating lettering, optical graphics and organic storytelling, the artworks offer personal interpretations of the erosion technique by the 31 participating designers, coming together to form a constellation of eclectic and multifaceted signs.
